Deo Care Privacy Policy

Effective Date: May 1, 2026

Deo Care Inc. (“Deo Care,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) provides patient care navigation and coordination services. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and share information (1) when patients are onboarded to Deo Care and communicate with us by text message, and (2) when anyone visits our informational website at deocare.com (the “Site”).

Deo Care Inc. is located at 5044 Carm Avenue, San Jose, CA 95124. If you have questions, contact us at help@deocare.com or +1 (415) 528-9240.

1. Health Information and HIPAA

Much of the information you provide to Deo Care is health information. Health information that identifies you and relates to your care (“Protected Health Information” or “PHI”) is protected under the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (“HIPAA”) and applicable state law.

Deo Care handles PHI both (a) as a Business Associate of your treating healthcare providers, under Business Associate Agreements, and (b) under the authorizations you sign directly with us. Our use and disclosure of PHI is governed by HIPAA, those agreements, and the authorizations you sign — and, where they apply, by your healthcare provider’s Notice of Privacy Practices — not solely by this Privacy Policy.

This Privacy Policy describes our general privacy practices and applies to personal information that is not otherwise governed by HIPAA (for example, information collected through our Site). Where this Policy and HIPAA differ with respect to PHI, HIPAA and your signed authorizations control.

2. Information We Collect

Patient information (collected once, at your clinic). If you choose Deo Care during a visit to your treating practice, we collect your information one time during onboarding, which you complete on a Deo-provided tablet at the clinic. After onboarding, you interact with Deo Care by text message — you do not need to use any website or app again. The information collected during onboarding may include:

Our website and platform. Patients do not use the Deo Care website or platform. Onboarding is completed on a Deo-provided tablet with clinic staff, and the platform is used by clinic staff and Deo Care navigators to onboard patients and coordinate their care. deocare.com itself is a public informational website that does not collect patient health information; standard technical logs (such as IP address and browser type) may be recorded to operate and secure it. We do not use third-party advertising networks or cross-site tracking technologies, and we do not sell your information.

3. How We Use Information

We use the information we collect to:

4. Text Messaging (SMS)

If you opt in, Deo Care sends you care-related text messages — such as appointment and scheduling reminders, records and document requests, benefits and prior-authorization updates, and care-coordination check-ins from your care navigator. Message frequency varies with your care, and message and data rates may apply.

We will not share or sell your mobile information with third parties for promotional or marketing purposes. Text-messaging originator opt-in data and consent are not shared with any third parties.

You can cancel at any time by replying STOP or UNSUBSCRIBE to any message, and you can get help by replying HELP or contacting help@deocare.com.

5. How We Share Information

We do not sell your personal information. We share information only as needed to provide our services and as permitted or required by law, including with:

6. California Privacy Rights

Because Deo Care is based in California and serves California residents, the California Consumer Privacy Act, as amended by the CPRA (“CCPA”), may apply to personal information we handle that is not exempt. Note: medical information governed by HIPAA and California’s Confidentiality of Medical Information Act (CMIA) is exempt from the CCPA; those laws — not the CCPA — govern your PHI.

For non-exempt personal information, California residents have the right to:

We will not discriminate against you for exercising these rights. To make a request, contact us at help@deocare.com or +1 (415) 528-9240. You may use an authorized agent, and we will take reasonable steps to verify your identity before responding.

7. Data Security

We use administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect your information, consistent with HIPAA where applicable. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure; text messages and email in particular are not fully secure, and others with access to your device or account may be able to view them.

8. Data Retention

We retain information for as long as needed to provide our services, coordinate your care, and meet our legal, regulatory, and recordkeeping obligations, after which we delete or de-identify it.

9. Children’s Privacy

Our services are directed to adults. Where care involves a patient under 18 or a patient who cannot consent, an authorized parent, guardian, or representative acts on the patient’s behalf. We do not knowingly collect information directly from children.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the updated version here and revise the Effective Date above.
